Question…How do I get Anthony Bourdain’s life? Seriously, I want to try to pull it off, I think I’d be pretty good at it. I can wear expensive sunglasses traipse around the world, and eat at dives. I do one out of three of those things right now. With the right budge I could easily go three for three. Mr. Bourdain, when you are done tag me in. The Layover, in the same vein as Bourdain’s No Reservations, is spontaneous, fun, and all about really good, mostly cheap food.
The show is about what to do, where to go, and most importantly what to eat should you have a finite amount of time in certain locale. In Los Angeles for example, Bourdain finds you a hotel near the airport, an excellent taco stand, great Korean BBQ, a speak easy, and a pricey hipster haven. It reminds me of a less seedy Up All Night with Night with Dave Attell. It is choice TV watching in no small part because of Bourdain and his wonderfully minimalist delivery and ability to find a cheap taco. It’s a DVR destination on a weekly basis.
