Gear Head: Is this blood splatter on Northwestern's Wounded Warrior Uniforms?

So apparently Northwestern's Under Armor sponsored Wounded Warrior uniforms have something a bit more sinister on them than just a number of silly corporate logos. Take a closer look at the helmet, is this supposed to look like blood splatter? If it isn't then someone sucks and making things NOT look like blood splatter.

That's either real dark there UA, if it's intentional or real stupid. Check out the gloves.

So...how close are we to fake bullet holes? I honestly don't see how blood splatter on Old Glory does much in terms of forwarding the cause. To be honest Gear Head has never liked the "sports are like war" analogy and narrative. They aren't. Not even close.

Now, Northwestern plans to auction off the game used uniforms with 100% of proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project. Let's go ahead and make good on that promise, because we know how money sometimes gets lost in some of these deals.

So I guess if you like your commemorative one-off football jerseys with a not so subtle hint of blood on them, go crazy and bid away. At least it's for a good cause.
