Big 12 Holding at 10

Bob Bowlsby, Big 12 commish talked wants and needs the other day regarding expansion.

Transient

"I don’t think there’s a need for expansion; there may be a want for expansion,” Bowlsby said last week. "Ten is the right size for us. Are we oblivious? No, we can’t afford to be. But we are distributing a lot of money. We’re highly-competitive.

Snapping necks and cashing checks is how you want to put it Bob.

He's right of course. His teams have a clearer path to a plus one playoff than SEC, Big 10, and PAC 12 competition. No conference title game a pure round robin format, it just works. For the little guys it works well too. Every 2 seasons big names like Texas and OU show up to play at your home venue. Whereas Ohio State or Michigan might show up at Maryland once a presidential cycle.

The mega conference is a nice concept but the Big 12 is letting each school get a bigger piece of the pie.
