Asomugha, Revis, Etc Released

Need a cornerback? Let's be more specific, need a cornerback who at one point was considered an island? We've got one of those. Need one who was part a brutal bidding war and a dream team in Philly? Check aisle two.  Need one who's mouthy and can't really cover? Gotcha.

In the past week the Eagles have released Nnamdi Asomugha, the Jets are looking to trade Darrelle Revis, and the Redskins have parted ways with DeAngelo Hall.

Nnamdi Asomugha was set to make $15 million next year. A bit of a cap hit there. Revis will cost you between $13-16 million and Hall is a cheap option at $7.5.

Hard to believe that just two years ago we were talking about Asomugha as the key cog in the Eagles Super Bowl run. Most teams in the league are shedding dollars to make cap space. Some big names will be wearing different uniforms next season.

Welcome to the new financial reality of the NFL.
