Greek Soccer Player Receives Lifetime Ban for Nazi Salute

Greek soccer player Giorgos Katidis received a lifetime ban for performing a Nazi salute while playing for AEK Athens yesterday. (Why does my spellcheck give me a redline when I don't capitalize Nazi?) Hope it was worth it Giorgos, because you won't have a chance to celebrate another goal north of a rec league.

In his defense, and no there is no defense, Giorgos may be an idiot. According to the AP he pleaded ignorance of the meaning of his gesture - right arm extended and hand straightened. He claimed on his Twitter account that he detests fascism.

Giorgos needs to read more books, subscribe to the history channel, or take a short train ride north.
