The rains delayed the game, but Texas State finished it. The Bobcats won at home against Mountain West foe Wyoming. What’s more, Texas State may have welcomed their quarterback of the present and future.

Stephenville freshman Tyler Jones was 14-18 for 196 and he was helped by a potent State rushing attack including 138 yards from Robert Lowe. Jones was as efficient as any Bobcat quarterback’s been this season, throwing a TD and a pick but looking pretty comfortable for a kid who was trying to score a prom date a few months ago.

The game was delayed for 3 ½ hours due to lightening and wrapped up just before 1 a.m. this morning. Still the Bobcats welcomed over 22,000 to Bobcat Stadium, the second largest crowd in Texas State history. Something may be brewing in San Marcos.

Texas State opens Sun Belt play at Louisiana Lafayette next week.
