Houston played their first "home away from home" game as the new Houston stadium gets constructed on campus. This week the Cougs were at Reliant to welcome Southern. It didn't go well for Southern putting the Cougars in the drivers seat in the SWAC.

By the way, SI doesn't have a score tab for the American Athletic Conference, after UConn and USF's start this may be the least of the new leagues problems.

The two-headed runningback monster of Kenneth Farrow and Ryan Jackson combined for 217 rushing yards. Was this a sign of an improved running game or a sign that Southern can't stop the run? We shall soon see.

Houston kicks off American Athletic Conference play against Temple next week in Mo-Town Philly.
