So much went well offensively for the Miners, but so little went well defensively. Hey Sean Kugler, your defense. Woof. New Mexico looked like the 1980's Redskins pushing the Miners defensive front around. New Mexico attempted 7, yes 7 passes total. Why because they didn't need to throw it. Kasey Carrier had 41 carriers for 291 yards for New Mexico. UTEP could be making Heisman candidates week by week if their defensive front doesn't stop playing on skates.

Jameill Showers had a decent if not statistically impressive performance. Aaron Jones cracked triple digits rushing the ball as the Miners were pretty good at running Kugler's physical offense.

UTEP travels to Las Cruces to take on New Mexico State in a game they need to win.
