Highlights and Numbers - Navy 55 SMU 14

SMU never got within 20 of the homestanding Midshipmen, forcing the Mids to punt juston once. SMU fell to 1-9 after the loss in Annapolis. Navy ran their record to 8-1. 

SMU finishes with a home game against Tulane and road test at Memphis. 

Blurbs and Notes:

  • "I don't know if we defended anything, to be honest. We showed up." SMU coach Chad Morris
  • SMU Quarterback Matt Davis completed just 8-of-22 passes for 124 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
  • Deion Sanders, Jr. now has 1456 career KOR yards, which moves him to 4th at SMU.
  • Fifth year senior Garrett Krstich actually got the start against the Midshipmen. Krstich's father, Jeff, played football at Navy in the 1960s, and the two attended a Midshipmen game in 2007. A few weeks later, Jeff Krstich died of a heart attack while playing pickup lacrosse.
