Canadian 15-0

Prepare for an offensive explosion as Canadian looks to repeat last years state title run. Refugio and Canadian are known for their big time passing games. 

Tanner Schafer leads the Wildcats offense with has won by a 43 point margin. Schafer has thrown for over 3,800 yards and completed passes at a 79% clip. 

Refugio are led by quarterback Jaylon Masscorro and running back Isaiah Perez. Refugio is looking for its 4th state title, having gone 3-3 in their previous title runs. Masscorro has throw for 48 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions this season. 

Canadian is also looking for it’s 4th title and are 3-1 in title games. The Wildcats give up just 7 points a game and under 200 yards  on defense. Refugio averages 43 points a game on offense

2A Division II Title Game

Albany 14-1

Bremond 15-0

A rematch of last years title game. Bremond handed Albany their only loss last season in the state championship. 

Albany has a whopping 125 high school students, compared to Bremond’s 141. 

Bremond relies on quarterback Roshauud Paul has put over 4,200 yards of total offense for the Tigers who haven’t lost in two seasons and have a combined 42-1 record the last three seasons. Albany relies on quarterback Drew Neece and running back Charles Carter plus a stout linebacking corps on defense. 

Both teams are 2-4 in state title games. Albany’s last title came in 1961. Bremond's in 2015.
