2015 Round-Up Newcomer of the Year: Christian Kirk

The Round-Up’s post season award gift boxes continue to fly out the doors, this one going to the Newcomer of the Year. We thought about Malik Jefferson of Texas, Daylon Mack at A&M, TCU’s KaVontae Turpin and Ty Summers and a several other guys but ultimately we landed on:

Christian Kirk, WR Texas A&M

According to recently removed A&M Offensive Coordinator Jake Spavital, he saw Christian Kirk catch an out route at a skills camp and said to himself, hey we should get that guy. Never mind the fact that Kirk was a 5-Star receiver, that out route tho.

Kirk started 2015 with a bang against Arizona State with touchdowns receiving and returning. From there Kirk became a staple and focal point of an A&M offense that sorely needed one.

All told Kirk caught 80 passes in 2015 for over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns. Kirk averaged 19 yards on kick returns and an incredible 24 yards per punt return with 2 return TDs.

Congrats Christian and hey, thanks for not transferring, we know that stuff was going around over the Holiday Season. Enjoy our gift box which includes some epson ink cartridges which may or may not fit your printer or more importantly, may or may not be full on ink, some Top Ramen, plus a corn cob back scratcher that the Round-Up purchased on an ill advised spring break trip to Mexico back in the day.
