Week 11 Power Rankings

Houston (8-2): Welcome back to Number 1 Cougar Nation! You've got til Thursday to enjoy this, then Lamar Jackson comes to 3rd Ward to take everyone's McNuggets.

Texas A&M (7-3): No. 2 is too high for Texas A&M. The state of Mississippi once again had their way with the 'Ol Ags. It was a classic Kevin Sumlin October swoon that just so happened to occur in November.

TCU (5-4): TCU enjoyed the bye week and now they'll welcome Okie State to the Carter. TCU can't win the Big 12, but they can take a dump on the Cowboys chance to do it.

Texas (5-5): Dana Heatolgorsen and his Red Bull machine came to Austin and escaped with a win. The seat for old Chuck is back to hot again. Does a win over Kansas do anything to cool it? Probably not.

Baylor (6-3): Baylor needs some good news right about now. It ain't coming in the form of Bill Snyder and Kansas State. The game's in Waco so expect more of the Art Briles circus.

Texas Tech (4-6): You gotta feel for Kliff Kingsbury, his team takes Oklahoma State to the brink then loses on a missed extra point. Once again Tech scores 40+ and loses. A loss to Iowa State this week would put the bow on this pile of crap.

SMU (5-5): SMU rebounded from getting bombed out by Memphis by bombing out East Carolina. The Mustangs are a game from a bowl bid, they just have to beat either 8-2 USF or 7-3 Navy. Good luck with that.

UTSA (5-5): The Roadrunners met the best team in CUSA West. It didn't go well. Now they make their first trip to College Station to play an A&M team that's gone from a playoff bid to perhaps getting their coach fired in 12 days.

North Texas (4-6): The Mean Green also went east and took a beating on Saturday. Southern Miss comes to Denton wondering how their season disintegrated. North Texas has two winnable games for a bowl bid.

UTEP (3-7): Heartbreaking loss to FAU on Saturday. But then when you let FAU go 96 yards in 2 minutes it's a heartbreak of your own making. No bowl for UTEP. Now the Miners travel to Rice.

Rice (2-8): Rice won! On the road! And we moved them out of the cellar position. Is this the biggest moment in Rice football since the JFK Moon Speech? Yes, yes it is.

Texas State (2-7): Welcome to the bottom Texas State. Life is hard at the bottom. Ask Rice.
