A&M received several pieces of bad news after their loss to Mississippi State, well, other than the loss. Quarterback Trevor Knight is done for the remainder of the regular season with a shoulder injury.
In his place Jake Hubenak once again is called up on to start for the Aggies. Hubenak made one start in 2015, the bowl game loss to Louisville. For his career he's 24-48 with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
The Aggie offense benefited from Knights running ability, a trait that Hubenak doesn't really possess. Offensive Coordinator Noel Mazzone will need to modify his approach while continuing to try and emphasize the run game.
That might be a problem for A&M with starting guard Connor Lanfear out for the season with a knee injury. A&M may shift tackle Jermaine Eluemunor inside and move Koda Martin into the starting rotation at tackle.
Defensive back Noel Ellis tore an upper leg muscle and will also miss the remainder of 2016.
