Devin Chafin Finally Dismissed by Baylor Football Team

Devin Chafin was finally dismissed from Baylor’s football team. The first discipline for Chafin after his alleged assault of a woman in 2014. Chafin was a key cog in Baylor’s rushing attack for the past three seasons. Ironically Chafin was suspended for the spring due to a marijuana charge he picked up in March.

According to Outside the Lines Chafin assaulted prior to the 2014 season.

In the April 2014 case, a woman told Waco police that Bears running back Devin Chafin grabbed her arm and slammed it against a car, in front of teammates and another witness. She provided photos of bruises on her arm to police. She told police that, weeks earlier, Chafin had grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against a wall, then threw her to the floor and kicked her, according to a police report.

Never mind all that, Chafin carried the rock for the Bears for 961 yards and 17 touchdowns after the alleged assault. So…football all the way.

According to a Waco Tribune article in mid-May, Chafin was expected to return to action this summer for the Bears.
