Rice's New Endzone Facility Comes in Under Budget

Leave it to Rice to know how to work a calculator. According to Rice AD Joe Karlgaard, Rice's new Brian Patterson Sports Performance Center was budgeted for $33 million dollars and the facility came in under the budgeted amount.

The Patterson facility in the Rice Stadium end zone is 60,000 square feet that houses the Owl's new weight room, locker room, meeting rooms, staff offices, sports medicine facilities and the all important players lounge. The facility also includes a new video board as well.

The Owls needed a new football facility in the worst way, the Owls have a top flight baseball field in Reckling Park a refurbished basketball arena in Tudor Fieldhouse, Rice stadium needed a facelift. The Owls haven't touched the stadium, save some scoreboard enhancements and signage for 60+ years.
