What We Saw: North Texas 42 Rice 35

The Mean Green picked up a huge win on Saturday night, in overtime, on the road. Seth Littrell's team withstood a 17 point run by Rice to start the game but held their composure and dominated the final 2 quarters and overtime. A few thoughts...

- Mason Fine is as gutty and cerebral as advertised. He kept the Mean Green in the game, made good throws, better runs and generally managed the game well. He also slid a few times which bodes well for his survival this year.

-  Tyler Stehling played his best half of football in the first, then couldn't replicate for the second half. However progress was made.  Stehling did set up the game tying touchdown with a great quarterback run, but it just wasn't enough.

- North Texas' defense bounced back from a terrible first quarter to play solid once again and shut down the Owl attack.

- Rice's Zach Wright had a HUGE night for the Owls with 10 catches and 120 yards.

Up Next for Rice is Southern Miss on the Road. UNT gets Middle Tennessee at home.
