Koach Kliff got some bad news on Thursday as Breiden Fehoko is transferring out of Lubbock. Fehoko was a 5-Star defensive tackle recruit out of Hawaii and a coup for the Tech staff. Since arriving on campus in 2015, Fehoko has started every game at defensive tackle.
This season Fehoko accumulated nineteen tackles and one quarterback sack to go along with three and a half tackles for loss. He was named honorable mention All Big 12 in 2015. Two of his three brothers played for the Red Raiders. As a true sophomore Fehoko will need to sit out 2017 unless he drops down to the FCS.
Fehoko's departure leaves the Red Raiders down both defensive tackle starters from 2016 as Ondre Pipkins was a senior. Rising sophomore Broderick Washington returns from the 2-deep at one tackle position and senior Mychealon Thomas returns after backing up Fehoko in 2016.
