Week 6 Power Rankings

Things are falling into place, or free falling. That's a Tom Petty reference, everyone else is making them so we thought we'd keep up. Peer pressure is hard, you don't know how it feels. Sorry, we're done making Tom Petty references. Yer so bad if you think we're going to make another one.

1. TCU

TCU did their thing or just enough of their thing to get rid of West Virginia on Saturday. TCU travels to that trap game haven, Manhattan, Kansas this week.

2. Texas Tech

Speaking of trap locations, Morgantown is literally full of traps. The pelt trade is alive and well in West Virginia. The Red Raiders pummeled poor Kansas, which sadly is back to being Kansas.

3. Texas A&M

The Aggies stayed within a score of Alabama, even if it wasn't that close. Now comes a trip to Gainesville.

4. Texas

Texas heads into Red River Week riding a two-game winning streak while the Sooners lost to Iowa State. Should be a fun weekend.

5. Houston

The Cougars beat the Mustangs in an odd game that saw SMU outgain Houston. Screw style points, a win is a win. Now the Cougars travel to Tulsa.

6. SMU

SMU gained a lot of yards, but couldn't score many points. Now they've got a full bye week to figure out how.

The Roadrunners hit a stumbling block against Southern Miss on Saturday; now another one awaits in Denton. How will UTSA respond knowing they aren't a playoff contender any longer?

8. North Texas

North Texas had a bye week to prepare for its biggest game of the season against rival UTSA. The Mean Green deserve a full house on Saturday night.

9. Baylor

Baylor didn't take an L on Saturday. That's the good news. The bad news is they travel to Stillwater on Saturday. Try to keep it close Bears.

10. Rice

Oh boy. It's rough in West U. At least the bye week is here, and the Owls can get back to focusing on academics.

11. UTEP

Mike Price got within two points of a UTEP win. We should go ahead and count that as a win, grade the Miners on a curve.

12. Texas State

Texas State blames their poor attendance in part on ACL last week. This week the Bobcats travel to the Lafayette where hipster bands only go if taken captive by neo-nazis.
