Tech's Karl Scott Leaving to become DC at Louisiana Lafayette

Tech will be in the market for a new secondary coach as current DB coach Karl Scott is moving on to Louisiana Lafayette where he'll lead the Cajun defense. Scott spent two seasons at Tech mentoring defensive backs, before that he held a similar position at Louisiana Tech. Scott served three years on the Southeastern Louisiana staff as defensive coordinator in 2014 and linebackers coach from 2012-13. He helped the Lions to back to back Southland Conference titles.

Scott played collegiately at McMurry University in Abilene and landed his first job at crosstown college Hardin Simmons.

Kliff Kingsbury will be hiring three head coaches with Scott's departure, and after letting special teams coach, Joe Robinson go. He'll also be able to hire a tenth coach per new NCAA rules.
