Matt Lubick has been a busy man. Let's look at his last few months...
- Lubick was the OC at Oregon for the 2016 season. Once Mark Helfrich was let go, so was Lubick, but he landed at...
- Ole Miss where he signed on as wide receivers coach. He left Oxford two weeks later for...
- Baylor where he took the gig as OC for new coach Matt Rhule in January. Six weeks later he's off for...
- Washington to work as Co-OC and receivers coach.
Matt must live out of a shaving kit.
The Bears look to recently hired quarterback coach Glenn Thomas and Co-OC Jeff Nixon to fill the void.
By the way, we always feel sorry for coaches who lose their jobs and have to uproot their families. Yes, that does suck. But equally as terrible is the rash of coaching moves that occur after signing day. Those recruits allegedly commit to the school, not the coach. Not true. They commit to the guy who's going to be coaching them up and calling plays and not the name on the helmet.
Don't blame recruits who decommit or transfer. The system is designed to treat them as commodities.
