North Texas' offensive line depth took another hit on Sunday when senior Wylie Reinhardt announced his retirement from football due to injuries. Reinhardt has been dealing with neck and back issues for some time now.
North Texas lost Trey Keenan and Sam Rice from last years starting five and Chris Mills is recovering from a knee injury and held out of spring practice. Reinhardt was competing for one of the starting guard positions heading into fall practice. Elex Woodworth will be given an chance to move inside from his tackle position, but a thin position got thinner with Reinhardt's retirement.
On a side note, Reinhardt became a father recently and certainly there is more in play here than just football. We wish Wylie the best in whatever he endeavors to do.
