Tony Brown announced via twitter that he is leaving Lubbock and heading elsewhere. Brown joined Jonathan Giles who announced he was leaving Tech two weeks ago.
Brown, from La Mirada, California, caught 14 passes for 250 yards and one touchdown in 2015 and caught 13 passes for 128 yards and a TD in 2016. Brown exited spring practice third behind junior Keke Coutee and senior Zach Austin at “Y” inside receiver.
Of Texas Tech's 19 high school signees from 2015 only ten remain on the roster. Brown chose Tech over UCLA, Nebraska, Colorado, Washington and Washington State. His original position coach Darrin Chiaverini left Tech after 2015 to return to his alma mater Colorado.
