Athlon's Preseason All-CUSA Team

Athlon is dropping bread crumbs for the starving college football fan with their release of their preseason All-CUSA teams. The four Texas schools were well represented. 

North Texas:

Defense is the key for the Mean Green as three members of the NT secondary made the all conference selection with Kishawn McClain making first team, Nate Brooks making second team, and Eric Jenkins on the third team. 

Linebacker Joshua Wheeler and defensive tackle Bryce English were named fourth team as well. 

On offense Jeffrey Willson made second team running back and tackle Jordan Murray made third team offensive line. 

Tyler Wilson made third team as a kick returner. 

Rice:

Rice placed three offensive linemen on the first four teams with Trey Martin and Calvin Anderson making second team and Pete Godber making fourth team. 

Receiver Kyle Granson and running back Samuel Stewart made the fourth team as well. 

On defense Emmanuel Ellerbee was named first team linebacker and Blain Padgett was named third team defensive line. 

Jack Fox is the first team punter. 

UTEP:

The Miners Will Hernandez made first team offensive line and safety Devin Cockrell was named second team safety. 

Terry Juniel made second team as a returner while Alan Luna made fourth team punter. 

UTSA:

UTSA placed two linebackers on the top four units with Josiah Tauaefa and La'Kel Bass. Marcus Davenport also made first team defensive end while Nate Gaines was a second team corner. 

On offensive running back Jalen Rhodes, receiver Josh Stewart, and offensive lineman Austin Pratt all made third team. 

Kicker Yannis Routsas was named third team kicker.
