Baylor's Thin Offensive Line Keeps Getting Thinner

Matt Rhule's offensive line situation at Baylor is getting desperate. The Bears had seven scholarship lineman in the spring. Now comes news that in addition to Tanner Thrift retiring from football, now Josh Pelzel is doing the same due to injury.

Pelzel, a junior from Rockdale, suffered a torn ACL this spring.

Baylor recently announced that tight end Sam Tecklenburg will be shifting back to center. As Baylor shifts to fortify the offensive line, other positions lose depth. Tecklenburg was an H-Back in Art Briles' offense, but Matt Rules' offense will be conventional and use tight ends.

Tecklenburg's move means that former Baylor basketball player Ishmael Wainwright will get more playing time at tight end.

At Big 12 Media Days Matt Rhule said that the Bears' line situation is so dire that any injury would be catastrophic.
