Jerard Carter, Three Others to Miss Time This Season

In Major Applewhite's opening presser of his first fall camp, he made several interesting remarks. The most interesting/substantive was that defensive end Jerard Carter would be out until at least the middle of the season with a foot injury. Carter started nine games at defensive end in 2016.

Houston could turn to Zach Vaughan, he made one start and played in eleven games last season. Then there's Chauntez Jackson a senior who has seen a little action but none since 2015.

The other news Applewhite gave was that Kameron Eloph will miss at least half the season as well. Eloph made four starts at left guard.

Lastly running back Kevrin Justice, a redshirt sophomore from Kilgore, will miss the start of the season as well. Justice started the first two games of 2016.
