North Texas' Bryce English to Miss Opener with Foot Injury

The defensive line depth of the Mean Green took a hit with the loss Bryce English thru the remainder of fall camp and into the opener vs. Lamar. English suffered a broken foot Tuesday during fall camp.

English, a Kansas State transfer from DeSoto, was challenging for the starting defensive tackle spot prior to the injury. He dropped more than 60 pounds to get down to 287. His explosiveness and lateral quickness improved with the weight loss.

T.J. Tauaalo will start the season as the first team defensive tackle barring anything unforeseen. The Mean Green could also move Roderick Young back to the interior at least temporarily. Young moved to defensive end in the spring, but played inside last season.
