Houston and UTSA Monitoring Flooding Situation Ahead of September 2nd Opener

With the landfall of Hurricane Harvey unfolding and biblical flooding occurring in Houston and much of the Southern part of the State, UTSA and Houston are taking a hard look at Saturday's opener in the Alamodome. The Cougars are currently relocated to Austin but are attempting to find temporary practice facilities.

The bigger issue appears to be the flooding around Houston's campus which will continue well into the week and perhaps into the next.

Across the country, Rice will land in Los Angeles tomorrow and monitor the situation from there. The Owls wrapped up their opener in Australia last night. The don't play again until September 9th when they travel to UTEP.

Sam Houston State's postponed its scheduled opener against Richmond scheduled for Sunday night. No date planned for a make-up date.
