Kirby Hocutt and the Texas Tech Administration announced that the Red Raiders would donate $100 for every point scored Saturday night to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Texas Tech plays Eastern Washington at Jones AT&T Stadium. It is the opener for each team. The University announced the #ScoreonHarvey initiative today.
For those of you scoring at home, Tech averaged 43 points per game last season, 69 points against FCS opponents. That's a pretty healthy chunk of change. It's not J.J. Watt money, but it's not bad and should help those reeling from Harvey's destruction.
The announcement does beg the question, is Eastern Washington's defense impeding Hurricane relief by not letting Tech score? From a global perspective, the Eagles are a-holes if they don't let Tech run up the score.
