Report: Nick Starkel Gets Start at QB for A&M

According to twitters Taylor Hamm, Nick Starkel will start Sundays opener at UCLA. Starkel looks like he's beat out Jake Hubenak and true freshman Kellen Mond. The move makes a lot of sense. Starkel received the most of the first team reps in the spring game, Hubenak is better served as a backup, and Mond, who may have the highest upside, is real young.

Starkel is a redshirt freshman from Liberty Christian in Argyle. His first pass against UCLA will be his first collegiate throw. Still, Starkel has a big arm and a little swagger which should help him. Ironically, Starkel chose between A&M and UCLA during his recruitment.
