UTSA's thin offensive line took a big hit with the loss of Kyle McKinney for the season. McKinney, injured his knee in the Baylor game last week. The junior from Boerne started sixteen games including six last season. His insertion into the starting lineup along with Stefan Beard and Austin Pratt solidified the interior of UTSA's line.
In games where McKinney, Pratt, and Beard started inside the 2016 Roadrunners averaged 5.1 yards per rush attempt. In games where any of those three wasn't starting, the Roadrunners average dropped to 3.0 yards per carry.
After McKinney's injury the Roadrunners subbed in Juan Perez-Isidoro at guard. The UTSA depth chart lists David Anzaldua as McKinney's backup. Perez-Isidoro started eleven games over his UTSA career, most of his starts have come at center.
