Brent Pease Out At UTEP

The EP Times confirmed this afternoon that UTEP offensive coordinator Brent Pease has been fired by head coach Sean Kugler. Pease was in his second full season in the position, but the Miners struggled offensively to start the season.

Pease came to UTEP from Washington where he coached receivers and after previous stints at Boise State and Florida. Kugler will address the firing tomorrow in his weekly press conference but the EP Times cites sources who claim that Kugler will turn play-calling duties over to Brian Natkin.

UTEP ranks 125th in the FBS in scoring offense at just 12.3 points per game. Most troubling is the Miners' rushing offense which ranks dead freaking last in the FBS at just 38 yards per game.

The Miners travel to rival New Mexico State this weekend.
