Gary Patterson reported that TCU safety Innis Gaines is likely out for the rest of the season with a left leg injury, we presume a knee but that’s speculation at this point. Gaines’ loss is a huge blow to TCU’s defense which is already operating without Big 12 co-Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, Ross Blacklock, lost to an injury in fall camp and without safety Miklo Small who’s missed the last two weeks with an injury.
Gaines is the second leading tackler on the team and second in tackles for loss as well.
The Frogs have suffered through a tough few weeks with three key de-commits; evidently, two are opening up recruiting after trips to Austin, and two losses to in-state rivals.
