Lions Hire UTSA Defensive Line Coach Bo Davis

UTSA gave Bo Davis a shot after he left Alabama in the midst of NCAA investigation. Now Davis is leaving San Antonio for the NFL. Matt Patricio announced Davis would coach the Lion's defensive front as part of his initial staff. His previous NFL stops include time with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2016) where he worked as a defensive intern and the Miami Dolphins (2006) as an assistant defensive line coach.

Davis is credited with helping the UTSA defensive line grow into a formidable unit, playing at an elite level among FBS defenses. The Roadrunners finished 22nd among FBS defenses in rushing defense and 5th in total defense.

After Davis left Alabama after allegations of impermissible recruiting contact arose, he spent 2016 working as a truck driver to make ends meet before coming to San Antonio.
