Baylor's quarterback room just got another scholarship player as NC State signal caller Jalan McClendon is heading to Waco. The consensus scouting report is that McClendon is big at 6-5, 221 pounds.
McClendon played in 14 games for the Wolfpack, never in starting capacity. McClendon completed 26 of 47 passing attempts for 262 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 223 yards on 46 carries. 24/7 rated the Charlotte native a composite 4-star recruit out of high school. Florida State, Tennessee, Miami, Virginia, and North Carolina offered him along with a bunch of others.
Charlie Brewer is widely considered the favorite to start 2018 for Matt Rhule. Once Zach Smith announced his intention to transfer, landing at Tulsa, depth took a severe hit. With McClendon the Bears have another real option at quarterback.
