The grad transfer train continues to make stops in 3rd Ward as Baylor's Terence Williams and Notre Dames Nick Watkins will both head to Houston. Both Williams and Watkins are eligible to play immediately.
After rushing for 1,048 yards and 11 touchdowns as a redshirt sophomore in 2016, Williams was limited to 255 yards rushing and one touchdown last fall in an injury-plagued season. The Ennis grad played in just eight games in 2017.
Watkins played high school ball at Bishop Dunne before heading to South Bend. He started the first nine games of the 2017 season for the ten win Irish. Watkins was expected to see playing time and perhaps start for the Irish next season, but in increasingly crowded defensive backfield limited his options.
The Cougars open the season at Rice.
