Prairie View With Some Roster Tweeks

According to their depth chart released earlier today, Prairie View is making a few changes to their starting lineups. Most notably Jalen Morton gets the start at quarterback. The Panther most experienced signal caller, Lavell McCullers isn't listed. Instead, Jalen Morton will get the start, and true freshman Trazon Connley will back him up.

Incumbent starter Neiko Hollins transferred this summer to Trinity Valley after starting much of last season and throwing for 21 touchdowns.

Morton threw seventeen passes last season but played more significant minutes in 2016, including starting the 2016 game at Rice. Morton completed 18 of 29 passes for 278 yards two picks and two touchdowns that afternoon.

Prairie view also listed Pre-Season All-SWAC center Corbin Finlayson as a backup to Roderick Smith. Arkansas State grad transfer Jamal Fontenot will get the start at left tackle. True freshman Xavier Johnson will start receiver and return kicks for the Panthers.
