Do you like touchdowns and terraces? Me too. So does North Texas apparently, they're adding a "Touchdown Terrace" to Apogee Stadium this fall.
According to the release, the seating area, which is situated in the southwest corner of the stadium, will feature 360 degree swivel seating, a rail area to place food and drinks, access to a cash bar and, most importantly, access to the air-conditioned "Hub Club." Air conditioning, of course, holding the key to survival.
As we noted yesterday when writing about SMU's new party deck, aka "come ignore the football team from inside the stadium," these VIP areas are where the gameday experience is moving. Access to unique amenities and creature comforts are the current wave of design to draw people into the stadium.
Last season, as the Mean Green won a Division title and nine games, Apogee averaged 22,362 spectators, 72% of the facility's capacity.
