Texas Tech's John Scott Shot, Hospitalized

Texas Tech redshirt defensive lineman John Scott III is in critical condition at a Lubbock area hospital after a fight at an area pool of a local apartment complex. The Hitchcock alum was at the pool when an altercation arose, at some point, the incident came to involve Scott and Asia Devine Jackson when Jackson allegedly shot Scott and another individual at the pool on Saturday.

Jackson left the scene but later turned himself in to authorities. Lubbock police issued a warrant for his arrest based on an aggravated assault charge. Scott’s injuries are considered severe, and he is currently in critical condition.

Scott redshirted and served on the scout team in 2018 after arriving on campus from Hitchcock.

Prayers for a speedy recovery and a quick resolution to this matter.
